Accessibility Statement
As of: April 2026
The city of Dahn strives to make its website www.dahn.de barrier-free accessible in accordance with the State Act on Equality for People with Disabilities (LGGBehM RLP) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance for Rhineland-Palatinate (BITV-RP) based on it. This declaration applies to all content under the domain www.dahn.de.
Status of compatibility with the requirements
This website complies with BITV 2.0 in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA due to the incompatibilities listed below partially compatible.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
Keyboard operation and controls
- The button to open and close the mobile navigation menu ("☰" symbol) is currently not marked as a button and cannot be operated reliably with the keyboard. (WCAG 2.1.1, 4.1.2)
- The submit button on the contact form is implemented as a link instead of a button; The usual keyboard operation with the Enter key therefore does not work as expected. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- On some controls the visible keyboard marking (focus frame) is too weak or not present. (WCAG 2.4.7)
- A “Jump to content” label is missing at the top of the page. (WCAG 2.4.1)
Forms
- The input fields of the contact form (name, email address, telephone number, subject, message) are only labeled with placeholder texts, not with programmatically assigned labels. This means that screen readers cannot reliably convey the purpose of the fields. (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2, 4.1.2)
Images and non-textual content
- Some of the images on the homepage use generic or empty alternative text. Images that carry content are therefore not described for screen readers. (WCAG 1.1.1)
- A video runs automatically in the background of the homepage without users being able to stop it. (WCAG 2.2.2)
Structure of the content
- On the homepage there are several level 1 (h1) headings as well as a blank heading; The hierarchical structure of the content is therefore not clear. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6)
- When changing the display language, the language attribute of the page is not updated. (WCAG 3.1.2)
Color contrasts
- Individual text/background combinations (particularly accent yellow on dark gray) do not achieve the minimum contrast for normal text required by WCAG 1.4.3 in all sizes. A full contrast test is pending.
PDF documents
- The PDF files offered for download in the “Citizen Information” and “City Council” areas (e.g. procurement guidelines, urban redevelopment documents) are not marked according to PDF/UA (ISO 14289). They contain neither semantic tags nor a machine-readable reading order and are therefore not or only partially accessible to screen readers. A gradual renovation is planned. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1)
Content in easy language and German sign language
- A summary of the most important content in Easy language ist verfügbar. Eine Fassung in Deutscher Gebärdensprache (DGS) ist derzeit nicht vorhanden; die Umsetzung wird gerade geklärt.
